The City of Salem city-wide fall cleanup has concluded.
City officials say any item not picked up due to non-compliance with the rules is the responsibility of the property owner or tenant to arrange for pickup. Alternative sources of pickup can be found via internet search for trash haulers near Salem, Illinois. The City of Salem thanks contractor, DBS Disposal, for their service in this endeavor.
Normal residential pickup will return on Monday, October 12, 2020. The City of Salem and it’s residential garbage contractor, DBS Services, remind all residential customers that all garbage should be placed within bags that are closed or tied. Loose garbage will not be picked up. Garbage found to be spilled, blown, or dragged upon arrival for pickup won’t be collected.
The decision for what will or won’t be picked up is made solely by the City’s garbage hauler as outlined n the city ordinances.
DBS Services will not service any trash outside of the container as they are trying to limit COVID-19 exposure to their drivers during this time. They appreciate your support and understanding as they know everyone is working hard to prevent exposure during this pandemic.
The City of Salem and DBS Services say their number one priority is the safety of its employees and customers.
