Early voting for the Tuesday, March 19th primary gets underway today (Thursday) at county clerk’s offices around the area.

Marion County Clerk Steve Fox has set up early voting outside his office on the second floor of the courthouse.

“Early voting goes up to the day before the election, so that would be March 18th.  Grace Period now runs through election day, that’s the ability to still register and vote.  Get you taken care of if you are not up to date for some reason clear through election day and that evening.  All those deadlines are coming up.  Vote by mail, you do have to apply for that so you have to give time for that process to happen, so there is a little shorter of a deadline before the election to do that.”

Early voting will take place outside the county clerk’s office from eight to four Monday through Friday.

Fox has also set up temporary early and grace period voting at the Centralia Township Office at 148 South Poplar in Centralia on Wednesday March 6th and March 13th from nine am to three pm. Grace Period voting will be available March 19th from six am to seven pm.
