The Little Egypt CEO program came close to reaching its $7,000 goal with a Christmas themed Bingo Saturday night. Brenae Pate was the class leader on the project held at the Salem Community Activity Center.

“I believe this went very great.  I wish we would of had a little more people but we were able to bring in income pretty close to the goal.  We had a fun night and I enjoyed every bit of it.  We had a goal of collecting $7000.  The money is divided between us 10 kids and we use it for our personal businesses we will start 2nd semester.”

CEO co-facilitator Shannon Cooney expresses how proud he is of the students and how hard they worked to make this event possible.

“This particular group of 10 students which represents 4 high schools in Marion County.  They’ve done a really good job in coming together, it’s really hard to work together as a team to accomplish a goal.  I think they learned a lot about teamwork, I think Brenae learned a lot about leadership and keeping everybody organized and on track.  And I think everybody contributed to the success of the project.”

Salem Community Center Executive Director Kelly Predium also congratulated the students on bringing together the Bingo program and activities for the younger kids.

The Little Egypt CEO program has a goal of teaching students entrepreneurship skills and is part of the larger Midland Institute. Businesses are encouraged to get involved in the program through a yearly investment.
