Salem City Councilman Royce Bringwald has announced he will seek re-election.
Bringwald won two four-year terms before losing the last election and being appointed to fill a two-year unexpired term.
“There are a lot of things going on in the city,” Bringwald said. “A lot of expansion, a lot of projects, and I’d still like to be a part of that. That’s kind of what keeps me going. We have a really fine city, we have the building blocks and a good base. As far as everybody I’ve had the opportunity to serve with on council, they’ve all seemed to have one thing in common, and that commonality is that there is a passion and love for the city. Everyone wants to see what’s best and make it better for the citizens of Salem.”
Bringwald is also pleased with the work of City Manager Lisa Peck and is looking forward to what she brings forward.
Bringwald is retired from the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for 42 years beginning as a teenager. He moved to Salem when ten years old.
