Organizers of the Happy Hearts Quilt Guild are pleased with the participation in its annual quilt show at the Salem Community Activity Center over the weekend.

President Julia Clark of Centralia says over 100 quilts were on display.

She is inviting quilters and those who want to learn about quilting to their monthly meeting held the second Saturday of every month at the First Christian Church on West Boone Street in Salem.

“We have refreshments at 9:30 and the meeting at 10.  And we always have a class after the meeting to learn a new technique or brush up on an old technique.  We have a business meeting, show and tell and its really just a good time and we have a lot of fun.”

The winner of the Best of Show award was Rose Mary Perez of Centralia. Second place went to Donna Mensing of Breese. Third place went to Nancy McDaneld of Kell.
