The Salem Community High School Band took first place in their class at the Robinson Marching Maroons Band Festival last weekend.
Band Director John Randolph says they also took first place in color guard, drum major, and percussion.
The first-place finish came a week after the band finished second in their class and took first place for percussion at the Edwardsville Marching Band competition.
There are 48 members in the SCHS band this year. The name of their show is ‘Pictures At Bald Mountain’.
The band will perform this coming Saturday at the Mt. Zion field competition. They will also be marching in the Little Egypt Festival in Salem on Saturday, October 7th. They wrap up their season at the Pinckneyville Mardi Gras competition on October 28th.
