The South Central School Board has approved bids totaling just under $2.4-million for improvements to the South Central Middle School.
The winning bidder was Johannes Construction of Centralia.
The work will include remodeling both the north and south restrooms and adding an addition to connect the main school building to the gymnasium.
Superintendent Kerry Herdes says the work will begin in May and hopefully will conclude near the end of August. He reports the goal is to be finished or mostly done before school resumes.
Herdes says the amount of the bids was pretty much what they expected. He reports nine bid packages were submitted with a total of 15 contractors being part of the bidding process.
