Raccoon and Woodlawn will open up the Class S Boys Basketball State Quarterfinals today at 3:30 at Rend Lake after both won their openers on Saturday. Raccoon got a 46-17 win over OLMC Herrin While Woodlawn beat Marissa 54-14.
Also on Saturday, Albers 39-28 over St Mary’s Alton, Meridian beat TSJ Nashville 57-50, Central City opened with a 50-31 win over St Joe Olney, Altamont Lutheran advanced beating Bluford 60-36, Wayne City 52-9 over Jonesboro and New Simpson Hill beat St John’s Red Bud 46-36.
Following Raccoon/Woodlawn today it’s Albers and Meridian at 4:45, Central City and Altamont Lutheran will play at 6 and Wayne City and New Simpson Hill at 7:15. The State semifinals will be played on Thursday.
The Class L State Tournament is set to begin on Saturday with Centralia and Olney opening the day at 9:30. Casey Mount Vernon will take on Harrisburg at 12.
