Kaskaskia Blue Devils escaped with a 64-63 home win over Lincoln Trail who missed a pair of three’s in the final seconds.  Caleb Jenkins air balled a trey and Jesse Laster missed a 3 at the buzzer.  KC turned the ball over on a 5 second call with 14.8 seconds left to play.  Ezereke Dawson led KC with 18 while Jhei-R Jones scored 13.  KC is back in action Sunday at Rend Lake at 3pm.

 

John A. Logan 77; Olney Central 63

 

Number four ranked John A. Logan (12-0, 19-2) recorded a school-record 17th straight win, 77-63, at Olney Central led by Quimari Peterson and Sean Smith who combined for 25 second half points after OCC led 32-30 at halftime.

Peterson finished with 20 points, Smith had 13 with 12 from James Dent and another ten points by Isaiah Stafford.

Mershon Dickerson of OCC (7-4, 13-7) led all scorers with 25 points. Gavin Gilstrap had 12 points and J.T. Thomas added ten.

Logan’s win streak has been by an average of 19 points per game. The Volunteers’ closest game in the run is seven points (72-65) against Three Rivers on Jan. 7.

 

Lewis & Clark 102; Lake Land 91

 

Lewis & Clark exploded for 58 second half points to take a 102-91 home win over Lake Land.

The Trailblazers (3-10, 6-13) had six players score in double figures led by Demarion Shanklin who scored 20 of his 24 points in the final half and Lake Land took a 49-44 edge into the break.

L.T. White scored 19 points for L&C while Souley Diabe had 15, NuVaun Peterson and Armond Williams, 14-points each and Jude St. Jacques scored eleven.

Johnny Closed buried four treys and scored a game-high 27 points for Lake Land (4-9, 13-11) with 19 points and five 3’s by Tyler Chapman.

Dailliss Cox scored 15 points, Amar Kuljuhovic, 11, and Yassen Hussein added ten points, all in the second half.

 

Wabash Valley 70; Rend Lake 65

 

          Wabash Valley defeated visiting Rend Lake, 70-65, fueled by Brandon Rayzor-Moore who scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the final half. He had three triples on the night.

The Warriors (13-11) got a 16 -point effort from Gary Clay.

Rend Lake (6-14) was paced by Blake McKay with 21 points and Carson Prost who scored nineteen.

WVC led 35-27 at halftime.
