A new law taking effect January first lowers license plate fees for low-income seniors.
Secretary of State spokesperson Henry Haupt says the cost of an annual license plate sticker will drop from $24 to just $10 next month. He explains the eligibility requirements.
“It is based on seniors who are at a lower income. The threshold is set by the Illinois Department on Aging. Individuals with disabilities at lower income levels can qualify.
