Wildcats Host Freeburg In Cahokia Boys Action On WJBD Tonight
The Salem Wildcats enter tonight’s Cahokia matchup at 1-8 on the season and riding a 6-game skid. They look to rebound tonight as they host the Freeburg Midgets who enter at 5-3, 2-0 in the Cahokia with wins over Wood River and Roxana to go along with non conference wins over Maryville Christian, Carbondale and Waterloo. The Centralia Orphans are back in action tonight when they host Marion. The Orphans are 5-1 and 1-0 in the South Seven after an overtime win over Cahokia their last time out.
Cougars Beat Sandoval At Wayne City, Tournament Concludes Tomorrow
Tonight at Wayne City in the 5th place bracket semifinals it’s Crab Orchard and Edwards County at 5:30. Then it’s championship semifinals with North Clay and Cisne at 7 and Wayne City and Lovejoy at 8:30.
Last night, South Central advanced 9th place trophy game with their 58-29 win over Sandoval. Aidan Dodson had 19 with Brody Markley and Ethan Watwood adding 10 each. Armoni Dempsey led Sandoval with 13 and Trenton Dempsey added 12. The Cougars will play Grayville tomorrow afternoon at 1pm after their win over the JV of Hamilton County who drops to play Sandoval tomorrow at 11:30 in the first game of the day from Wayne City.
St Elmo Holiday Tournament Continues Tonight, Hilltoppers Squeak Into Title Game
At St Elmo tonight, Ramsey will play Patoka/Odin in a consolation semifinal starting at 6:15 followed by a championship semifinal with Cumberland and Windsor/Stew-Stras. Last night, CHBC won their consolation semifinal over Mulberry Grove 70-42 and in the championship semifinal Hillsboro nipped host St Elmo/Brownstown 59-57.
