Jr High Basketball – Salem & Centralia Earn Wins, OBC Tournament Opens Up, Indian Eagles Win

Salem & Centralia Each Win Setting Up Huge Matchup Wednesday

Franklin Park improved to 13-4 on the season with a road win at Carlyle 45-29 leading 22-7 at the halftime break.  10 Bobcats out of the 11 dressed scored led by Trey Clark with 13 and Caeden Miraglia added 6.  The Bobcats will host Centralia Wednesday in a showdown.

The Salem JV won 39-36 in overtime.  Silas Lux had 18 and Kyler King 10 in the win.

Centralia knocked off Effingham 46-12 to improve to 7-2 on the season.  Kenny Bratton had 19 to lead Centralia with JaShawn Staples adding 8 and 5 each from Jaxson Hancock and James Strowder.


Raccoon Wins, Selmaville Loses OBC Tournament Openers

Selmaville fell to Willow Grove to open the OBC Tournament 42-39.  Brendan Smith led the Rockets with 15 adding 4 steals and 4 assists while Wyatt McCarty added 11 points and 5 steals.  Riley Tate had 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  Selmaville will play Kell today at 4:30 in the Consolation semifinal at 4:30 at Raccoon then at 7pm tonight it’s the semifinal between Raccoon and Willow Grove.

Top Seed Raccoon advanced with a 55-6 victory.  Caden Lamb led Raccoon with 13, Michael Organ added 12 with 8 each from Alton Davis and Luikas Deomes.  The Devils are 13-2.


North Wamac/Irvington Knocks Off Spring Garden

Despite battling through some sickness on the team, the North Wamac/Irvington Indian Eagles got off to a good start on the road at Spring Garden winning 55-39 to improve to 8-5.  Dameon Wooden had 18 in the win, Coopoer Teaff added 17, Azylnn Witthaus-Strait and Jacob Heern had 10 each.

NWI JV also were also winners 35-16 to improve to 8-3 on the season.  Cooper Teaff had 22, Jaxon Neal added 12.
