Bobcats Open Home Season With Blowout Win Over Aviston
The Franklin Park Bobcats opened up their home schedule with a 53-23 dismantling of visiting Avistion. Salem’s defense was tenacious and relentless. Trey Clark led the Bobcats with 21, Landen Maxey and Payton Gullion combined for 11 of the 20 third quarter points for the Bobcats as Maxey finished with 9 and Gullion 5. The Bobcats are 4-3 on the season as they take on Olney at home Thursday night.
Bentley Bryan scored all 14 of his points in the 2nd half leading the Salem JV with a 45-35 win over Aviston. Kyler King added 11 and Silas Lux 6.
Selmaville Gets By Iuka At Pirates Ship
Selmaville went to Iuka and came out with a 67-46 victory in a game that despite the final score, was back and forth most of the night. Selmaville put all five starters in double figures led by Wyatt McCarty with 19 and 7 assists. Riley Tate had 13 points and 11 rebounds, Logan Butts and Brendan Smith had 12 each and Jaxon Ward added 11 including 3 straight three pointers. Kaiden Bevelo led the Pirates with 19 and Leland Wombles added 14.
The Rockets JV won 52-16 led by Rafe James with 15 and Cory Cano with 11. Kaiden Cripps led Iuka with 5. Selmaville will host Patoka on Wednesday at home while Iuka will head to Texico Thursday to play Field.
SC Falcons Blowout Mulberry Grove
The SC Falcons are 2-1 following last night’s 52-7 win at Mulberry Grove. The Falcons jumped out on top 25-2 after the opening quarter. Luke Shumate had 12, Westin Neilson 10, Eli Hiestand added 8 and Kaiden Harrell 6. The SC JV also were winners 31-8. The Falcons are back in action tonight at Neoga.
