The SC Lady Cougars came back from a set down and trailing early in the 2nd set to beat North Clay and win the 1a Farina volleyball regional 23-25, 25-23, 25-19. Sierra Arnold had 16 digs, Olivia Brauer had 14 assists, Brooklyn Garrett had 21 digs to go with her 9 kills. Brooke Cowger added 9 kills and Emma Jenne 7. SC improved to 29-7 on the season and will play NCOE at the Webber Sectional on Monday.
Also in 1a regional championships, Goreville won on their home court beating Christopher in 3 sets, Woodlawn fell to Albion at Gallatin County, Windsor was the 2nd of 3 NTC teams to win titles as they beat Okaw Valley at Kansas with St Anthony also advancing with their straight set win over Cumberland at Oblong. Okawville fell at home in 3-sets to Valmeyer, Carlyle won the Gibault Regional beating the hosts 27-25, 25-22 and Trico over Steeleville at Zeigler.

In 2a, Freeburg improved to 30-7 on the season with their 25-16, 20-25, 26-24 win over Pinckneyville at Sparta. Fairfield won the title at Anna over Massac County, Nashville beat Carterville at Chester, Breese Central in straight sets beat Staunton at Hillsboro, Mt Carmel won at home over Hamilton County, Robinson lost to the hosts at Shelbyville , Mater Dei in 3 sets over Roxana to win the Wesclin Regional. And at B.E. Gum last night, the Newton Lady Eagles knocked off Pana 26-24, 25-12 to advance to Sectionals.
In 3a regional title games, Mascoutah beat Triad at Civic Memorial, Centralia dropped their game to the hosts at Herrin 16-25, 25-13, 23-25, Taylorville over Waterloo in Jerseyville, Marion won in 3 tight sets over Carbondale in a match played at Olney
In 4a at Belleville East, the hosts fell to O’Fallon and at Edwardsville it was the Lady Tigers in straight sets over Belleville West.
