The South Central Lady Cougars improved to 28-7 with their Regional Semifinal victory over St Elmo/Brownstown in Farina last night 25-13, 25-11. Sierra Arnold had 14 digs, Olivia Brauer 14 assists, Brooke Cowger 10 kills and Emma Jenne added 8 and Brooklyn Garrett had 4 kills and 13 digs. They will play tonight in the regional final on Gary Shirley Court starting at 6pm against NTC rival North Clay after their 25-19, 25-17 win over Patoka.
Also last night in regional semifinals, Woodlawn beat Crab Orchard at Gallatin County, Windsor over Heritage at Kansas, at Oblong St Anthony beat Neoga, Christ Our Rock fell to Valmeyer in straight sets 5-15, 25-9 at Okawville while the hosts beat Father McGivney. The Carlyle Lady Indians are into the Waterloo Regional Finals after their 25-10, 25-8 win over New Athens. They will get Gibault after their straight sets win over Metro East Lutheran.
Tonight in 1a regional finals at Goreville the hosts take on Christopher, Woodlawn and Albion from Junction, Windsor takes on Okaw Valley at Kansas, St Anthony and Cumberland in Oblong, Valmeyer takes on the hosts in Okawville, Carlyle and Gibault from Waterloo and Trico takes on Steeleville at Zeigler.
Salem is the site for a 2a regional finals tonight that will see Newton and Pana matchup up at B.E. Gum starting at 6pm. Fairfield and Massac County play at Anna, Nashville and Carterville in Chester, Breese Central and Staunton play in Hillsboro, Mt Carmel hosts Hamilton County, Shelbyville hosts Robinson, Freeburg and Pinckneyville play at Sparta and Mater Dei and Roxana at Wesclin.
In 3a regional finals today Mascoutah and Triad play in Bethalto, Herrin hosts Centralia, Jacksonville welcomes Lincoln, Taylorville and Waterloo at Jerseyville, Marion and Carbondale play at Olney.
In 4a volleyball regional finals tonight at Belleville East the hosts take on O’Fallon. Edwardsville will host Belleville West.
