The Salem Wildcats fall to Olney by a final of 41-20 to open the home season for Salem. Sam Greene started the scoring off with a 51 yard touchdown run to give the Cats a 7-0 lead. But Olney would respond with 3 unanswered scores giving them a 21-7 lead at the halftime break.
In the 2nd half, Olney opened up with a quick score putting Salem in a 27-7 deficit. The Cats would not give up, clawing back with a 6 yard TD run by Kason Sullens to make it 27-13. Olney would respond with a score, and Sullens 2nd touchdown of the night, this one from 7 yards out was quickly answered on a 47 yard score by the Tigers.
Salem is 1-2 overall and will open up Cahokia play next week at Wood River.
