Lady Cats Fall To Freeburg, Head To Benton Tournament Saturday
The Salem Lady Wildcats volleyball team fell to 0-4 with their home loss to Freeburg 12-25, 8-25. They will head to the Benton Tournament this weekend looking for their first win of the year. The Freshmen lost in 3 sets 21-15, 19-21, 12-15 and are 2-2. The JV lost 14-25, 9-25 to fall to 1-3.
Columbia Overcomes Late Deficit In Win Over Central
Breese Central blew a 19-11 lead in the 3rd game with 9 unforced errors and Columbia prevailed 12-25, 27-25, 25-23 in Cahokia Conference play. Emma Taylor had 13 kills and Kayden Schroeder 12. Ava Mathews paced Columbia with 9 kills.
SC Gets Solid Win Over Clay City
SC improved to 6-4 with their 25-15, 25-22 win over Clay City. Brooklyn Garrett led SC with 7 kills with Brooke Cowger adding 6. Olivia Brauer had 9 assists, Sidney Shumate had 8. Brauer and Cowger had 2 blocks each. SC will play at Patoka tonight.
Mater Dei beat Belleville West 25-23, 25-21. Carlyle is still undefeated with their 25-19, 25-22 win over Wesclin.
SC is in action tonight at Patoka, Christ Our Rock heads to Wayne City.
