The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats let one get away as they fell at Vandalia 5-4. Mya Russell was 3-4 at the plate, Quinn Wolfe added a triple. Reagan Shuler struck out 7 in five innings of work in the circle. The Lady Bobcats will host their own tournament on Saturday.
Sandoval beat Opdyke 16-3. Avery Moorehead was the winning pitcher allowing 1 hit and struckout 12. She also had a hit and scored 3 runs at the plate. Jenna Howell tripled and drove in 2 runs, Adilee Nolte had a hit and 2 runs with 2 runs each from Rylee Whipple, Brooklyn Hodge, Hailey Roper and Mackenzie Atteberry. Sandoval is 2-4 on the season and will play at Odin on Friday.
Trinity/St Mary defenders move to 5-0 on the season with a 10-7 win over Summersville. Emrie Quick got the win going 6 innings giving up 6 hits while striking out 9. Rylie Neuhaus led the Defenders with a hit while scoring 3 times, Abby Draper and Bailey Pingsterhaus both added hits, while Quick chipped in with 2 rbis, Reese koester and Leah Kleiboeker both scored twice. The Defenders will be back in action Saturday at the Centralia fall tournament.
Rome Grade School improved to 7-0 after beating Waltonville 13-1. Taylor DeSmith allowed one hit and struck out 11 in 6 innings. Taylor DeSmith and Addison McMillen both hit home runs. Isabella Decker had 3 hits and Bristal Bradford had two hits.
