The Franklin Park Bobcats won their 5th straight game as they knocked off a good Aviston team 11-1 on the road in 5 innings. Salem got a great start from Avery Gullion, as the right hander worked 4.1 innings allowing just 3 hits and no earned runs with 6 strikeouts. Landen Maxey came in to get the final 2 outs to keep Gullion’s pitch count to have him available for the Salem Tournament on Saturday. At the plate, Salem got another 3 hit day from Payton Gullion as he added 2 runs and 2 RBI, Evan Barnes drove in 4 runs going 3-3 with RBI also from Maxey (2-3, including a double) and Landon Tennyson (1-3). Salem is 9-2 on the season and are on the road this afternoon at Vandalia.
South Central shutout Patoka 13-0. Luke Shumate, Sebastian Kruger and Kaiden Harrell each drove in 3 runs. Garret Shumate worked the first 3 innings for the win allowing a hit and struck out 7. Colton Cartright worked the final 3 innings allowing 1 hit and struck out 3.
Central City routed Iuka 20-2 behind 4 hits from Archie Goewey.
