The Franklin Park take their 2-1 record to today’s first home game of the season when they host Carmi.

Salem is coming off a split at Newton on Saturday.   In the opener, Salem fell 7-4 with 5 errors dooming the Bobcats.  Payton Gullion was solid in his first junior high start.  The lefty went 4.1 allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 5 and walking 4.  Avery Gullion came in for the final 1.2 allowing 0 runs and 0 hits with 3 strikeouts.  At the plate, Keytin Grawe doubled and drove in 2, Avery Gullion also doubled home a run, Payton Gullion had 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Max Vincent drove in a run going 2-3.  Evan Barnes singled, Landon Tennyson added a hit and run.

Salem used a 7-run, 3rd inning and tacked on 5 more in the 4th to win the 2nd game 15-4.  Payton and Avery Gullion each drove in 3 runs along with Owen Tennyson, Grawe drove in 2 with rBI also from Trenton Shelton, Caleb Squibb and Vincent.  Landen Maxey was the winning pitcher going 3 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run with 4 strikeouts.  Jax Schaubert worked the final 2 innings.

The SC Falcons, coming off wins over Greenville and Nokomis on Saturday, will be in action at home against Beecher City.
