The District Little League Tournaments open up for 12u and 10u teams around the state. The Salem 12u All Stars will open up tonight at 8pm against Olney in Mt Carmel to begin the double elimination tournament. The winner will advance to the semifinals on Friday at 6pm against the winner of Robinson or Lawrenceville. The loser will play Mt Carmel in an elimination game after they lost to Robinson last night in the tournament opener. The championship game is on Monday with a pair of elimination games to be played over the weekend. The Salem 12u is coached by Kevin Cripps.
The Salem 10u will open up their tournament at Lawrence County when they play Olney tonight at 7pm. It’s the 2nd game of the night with the hosts taking on Mt Carmel tonight at 5pm. A Salem win puts them into tomorrow’s game at 7pm, a loss they would play in tomorrow’s 5pm elimination game. The Salem 10u All Stars are coached by Kyle Butts. Salem will be the site for the 2nd round of the 10u post season.
The Salem 11u All Stars coached by Joby Bryan will have another week to prepare before opening up their tournament at Robinson next Saturday in pool play against the hosts. Salem will take on Olney Sunday at 5pm before they begin bracket play starting July 19th.
The Salem 8u International Tournament will be played at Rent One Park in Marion. The tournament begins tomorrow when Salem takes on Waltonville at 9:30 followed by a 3:30 game against Puerto Rico. Then on Saturday, Salem will play at 11am against Marion and 5pm against Murphysboro before elimination bracket play on Sunday.
