Salem’s Elena VanHoutin was the winner of the $1000 scholarship by winning the Grand Prix Summer Blast Invitational at Mardi Gras Lanes in Dekalb. Her score of 749 was 17 pins better than 2nd place Amelia Leslie from Addison and 51 pins better than 3rd place Hailey Johnston of Washington, Illinois.
