The Little Egypt Festival Parade on Saturday will feature more than 90 units, including multiple floats and bands.
General and Parade Chair Jay Henke feels it will be a crowd pleaser.
“It is shaping up really good. We’ve had a lot of entries. We have some people I’m sad to see will not be there. There are some new businesses in the area. They got on board and want to get in the parade and get their name out. We’re happy to have them and see them active in the community.”
The parade starts at two, and those in the parade are asked to be in position by one pm to ensure everyone is lined up well in advance. A mandatory meeting is at six Tuesday night at the Bryan Bennett Library for all entries to receive line-up instructions.
Henke says the rest of the festival will look much like last year. The craft area around the courthouse will open at 8 am and continue until parade time. Registration for the car show in Bryan Memorial Park will begin at nine, with trophies awarded around one pm. A kids’ activity area will be near the intersection of Schwartz and North Broadway, with the big wheel competition at 10 Saturday morning. The horse show will be held at one at the Franklin Park athletic fields. Both the cars and horses are invited to join the parade.
