Neoga took control early Tuesday and never looked back, defeating Odin/Patoka, 11-0.
The Indians scored four runs in the first inning before adding five more in the second to build a commanding 9-0 advantage. Neoga added two additional runs in the third inning to complete the scoring.
Evan Fearday started the first-inning rally with a single to right field, while an Odin/Patoka error and a sacrifice fly from Callen Lanham helped push runs across. Noah Platz added an RBI single, and Braylon Sparrow was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to cap the inning.
Neoga continued its offensive pressure in the second. Lanham delivered a two-run double, Mason Platz followed with an RBI double, and another run scored on an Odin/Patoka error. A fielder’s choice also brought home another run.
Noah Platz added an RBI single in the third inning to give the Indians an 11-0 lead.
Brady Cain started on the mound for Odin/Patoka, allowing seven hits and 10 runs over one and one-third innings. Four of the runs were earned, while Cain struck out one and walked two.
Neoga’s Malik Coy turned in a strong performance on the mound, tossing five scoreless innings. He allowed just two hits while striking out five and issuing no walks.
Kyan Walker led Odin/Patoka offensively, going 2-for-2.
Neoga finished with nine hits, led by Lanham and Platz with two apiece. Lanham went 2-for-2 and drove in a game-high three runs.
The Indians also played a clean defensive game, committing no errors.
