Isaac Knapp collected three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs as the Selmaville Rockets defeated the North Clay Indians, 9-2, Tuesday.

 

Knapp went 3-for-4 at the plate, doubling in the first inning before adding singles in the fourth and fifth innings.

 

Selmaville broke the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Rayne Schoonover grounded out to bring home one run, Knapp delivered a two-run single, and Jacob Butts followed with a two-run double to give the Rockets a commanding lead.

 

Selmaville got on the board in the second inning when Schoonover singled to right field and a North Clay error allowed two runs to score. A wild pitch in the third pushed the Rockets’ lead to 3-1.

 

Simon Fischer earned the victory, allowing one hit and one unearned run over four innings while striking out three and walking three. Liam Ryan pitched in relief.

 

Butts provided three RBIs while going 2-for-4 from the No. 3 spot in the lineup.

 

The Rockets also showed patience at the plate, drawing nine walks. Izac Holsapple, Ryder Lawson and Fischer each drew two walks.

 

Selmaville was aggressive on the basepaths, stealing nine bases. Holsapple, Lawson and Knapp each recorded multiple stolen bases.

 

The Rockets return to action Thursday when they travel to Franklin Park.
