The Premiere 14U softball team wrapped up an impressive week at the 14U Nationals in O’Fallon by finishing as the National Runner-Up while also bringing home one of the tournament’s highest honors.
Playing up an age division, Premiere posted an outstanding 6-2 record on its way to a runner-up finish. The team also earned the Overall Sportsmanship Award for its age group, an accomplishment head coach Bailee Tomlianovich said was every bit as meaningful as the championship trophy.
In a post following the tournament, the coach praised her players for the character they displayed throughout the week, saying the award reflected “the way they compete, the respect they show others, and the type of young women they are becoming.”
Tomlianovich also reflected on a season that included its share of challenges, but credited the team for continuing to work hard, battle through adversity, and finish the year on a high note. She said she was grateful for the memories made with the team and proud of everything the players accomplished during their national tournament run.
She also thanked the tournament organizers and volunteers for providing a memorable experience for the athletes throughout the week.
