Salem High School graduate and Rend Lake College right-handed pitcher Noah Nix continues to make his mark this summer in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
Nix turned in one of his best outings of the season in his most recent start, helping lead the Batavia Muckdogs to a 3-2 victory over the Oilers. The right-hander was in control throughout the night, allowing just one run on three hits while striking out eight batters to earn the win.
With his command and ability to keep hitters off balance, Nix helped the Muckdogs hold off the Oilers and secure an important victory late in the regular season.
The win came shortly after Batavia clinched a spot in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League postseason, guaranteeing the Muckdogs a chance to compete for a championship.
For Nix, the summer has provided another opportunity to showcase his talent against some of the top collegiate players in the country. The former Salem Wildcat and Rend Lake Warrior continues to build on his development as he prepares for the next chapter of his baseball career.
With the postseason now ahead, Nix and the Muckdogs will look to carry their momentum into the playoff push.
