The Junior Gold Youth National Bowling Championships are ongoing in Minneapolis as they are down to Match Play after 4 rounds of qualifying and then 2 Advancers Round.

 

In 18u Girls, Shobonier’s Macy Jones advanced out of qualifying and finished in the top 34 to advance to the 2nd round after shooting an 837 block.  Her tournament would come to an end in the next round as she finished 25th overall.  Miranda Duff of Smithton also made the 1st Advancers Round before missing the cut and finishing 40th.

 

In 16u, 2 area bowers found their way to Match Play.  Jillian Dwiggins of Alton and Kellen Stephens of Collinsville both advanced out of the 1st round and then Dwiggins was 7th and Stephens the final advancer out of the 2nd round with her 16th place.  Dwiggins would be the 7th seed and would lose to Jennie Vasquez in her first match before being eliminated by Emma Lester in her finale.  Stephens lost to top seed Laelah Tiquia by 1 pin in the first match play round before falling to Erica Schwartz in her final match.

 

In 16u, Harrisburg’s Dalton Wheeler advanced out of the 1st Advancers Round as he was 23rd with a 214 average in his block.  Columbia’s Blake Lane was the first bowler cut as they took the top 64 and he was 65th. Tyler Babcock of O’Fallon finished his tournament 90th.  Wheeler then failed to get into the top 16 as he finished 42nd overall.

 

Aviston’s Reese Renth made it to the Bracket Play in 14u Girls after a great week of bowling.  She finished the 1st Advancers round in 10th place with Sophia Walter of Belleville 26th.  Renth then was 16th in the final Advancers Round to get the 16th seed heading into Match Play.  She lost to the top seed Alyssa Randisi by 11 pins and then was eliminated by Lea Besevic.
