A 24-year-old Salem man has been ordered held without bond after formally being charged in Marion County Court on Monday with threatening a public official and aggravated assault.
Salem Police arrested Ein Jullian of Cedar Avenue after he was escorted out of Salem Township Hospital early Sunday morning where he was allegedly causing a disturbance and being uncooperative when being discharged from the emergency room.
Once outside Jullian continued to make idle threats towards officers such as ‘I ain’t scared of no police. I’ll beat the **** out of you all. I got guns too. I got a gun just like you do.’
After hearing the request for detention, Judge Erika Sanders agreed to hold Jullian because of his history of violent acts towards police and statements made to shoot the officer involved in the arrest. Jullian’s earlier convictions in Cook County for robbery and aggravated batteries were also noted.
A public defender was appointed to represent Jullian. He is due back in court for first appearance with counsel and a preliminary hearing on February 3rd.
