The local area was well represented this weekend at the Illinois Elks Association State Hoop Shoot Contest in Springfield.
Eli Bookhout placed 6th in the 12-13 year old boys division, Beckham Detmer placed 3rd in the 8-9 year old boys division, and Brinn Detmer placed 1st in the 10-11 year old girls division.
Brinn will now advance on to the Elks region competition in Iowa City, Iowa on March 14th and will compete against the state champions from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
