The Salem Elks Lodge #1678 has received a $1,000 Freedom Grant from the Elks National Veterans Service Commission to purchase food for the Marion V.A. veterans food pantry.
In addition to the grant, Lodge members donated an additional $700 and were able to use these funds to purchase a total of 900 cans of hearty soups, pasta, and other high protein foods for the pantry.
Lodge members also donated 232 pairs of socks for the Marion V.A. hospital raising the total amount of the donation to approximately $2,000.
