A Christmas Eve road rage incident on Old U.S. 51 in rural Sandoval ended with an upset driver being run over by his own vehicle and having his pants stripped off in the process.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say the driver of a pick-up truck with two occupants suddenly swerved into the other lane, causing the oncoming driver to slam on his brakes and swerve to avoid being hit.
After the incident, both drivers stopped. The one who nearly caused a crash came out of his vehicle irate and screaming. But he forgot to put his pickup in park and was run over by the vehicle. In the process, his pants were reportedly stripped off, leaving him naked from the waist down. The man then got back in his vehicle and left the scene before deputies arrived.
Sheriff’s deputies say they received another reckless driving complaint about an hour later involving the same vehicle. The suspect vehicle was found pulling into the driveway of the home of one of the occupants, and they were told by the deputy to quit driving as they had gotten multiple calls about reckless driving.
The man who was run over by the truck was not injured. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
