A 38-year-old Centralia man released on a notice to appear in court after being found in a church early Christmas morning was taken back into custody early Friday morning for a separate burglary.
Centralia Police arrested Mitchell Finley of Johnson Street early Friday for a burglary and criminal damage to the Kaskaskia Workshop in the Centralia Industrial Park. No other details are available. He was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a court appearance on Friday.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Finley early Christmas morning after finding him inside the Crossroad Church on Walnut Hill Road, southeast of Centralia, following a burglar alarm. Deputies say entry had been made by breaking a window in a door. Finley was allegedly found preparing food inside the church.
Finley was taken to the Marion County Jail, where he was later released on a notice to appear in court on criminal damage and criminal trespass to a building.
