A 22-year-old Sandoval woman was injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 50 east of Iuka early Tuesday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Alicia Cox of Old U.S. 51 was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 when she hit the rear of a pickup truck driven by 28-year-old Devon White of Keller Road in Iuka who had slowed to make a turn onto Landmark Road.
Reports indicate Cox was breathing but unresponsive upon the arrival of emergency help. Both Air Evac and ARCH declined to fly to the scene due to fog that was developing in the area. Cox was then taken to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response.
The Iuka Fire Department was also called to the scene to assist.
White was not injured in the crash.
The crash was reported at 5:34 Tuesday night. U.S. 50 was closed to traffic for about an hour and a half after the crash.
