Salem Police arrested a 40-year-old Salem woman, Angeleen Williams of Salem Mobile Home Park, on an outstanding Jefferson County warrant for failure to appear on a possession of controlled substance charge. She was later transferred to the Jefferson County Jail at Mt. Vernon.
24-year-old Kheandre Hatchett of East St. Louis was arrested on an outstanding Marion County felony failure to appear warrant. He is being held without bond until a court appearance.
Salem Police were called to a natural cover fire in the 1800 block of Yards Road blamed on a controlled burn getting out of hand. No buildings were threatened.
