Centralia High School band director Stephanie Aarons-Dennison and Centralia Junior High School band director Brittany McFall will march alongside 350 band directors in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1 as part of the Saluting America’s Band Directors Project. Band directors from all 50 states, as well as Canada, Mexico, and Panama, will come together to form the Band Directors’ Marching Band, which previously marched in the Rose Parade in 2022.

Aarons-Dennison and McFall were both recognized by SABD for their “Magic in Teamwork” project, which brought together the junior high and high school bands for a unified performance in the Centralia High School Homecoming Parade and the Centralia Halloween Parade. The organization credits the directors with “giving younger musicians the chance to perform alongside older role models while serving the community through energetic, high-quality parade performances.”

The performance for the 5.5-mile route through Pasadena will be led by nationally known music educator and innovative band director Jon Waters, director of bands for Bowling Green State University. The parade will be televised to national and international audiences.
