The Salem Wildcats beat Olney 3-1 after a scoreless first half to advance in the 2a soccer regional. Holden Richardson scored on a header to give Salem the lead early in the 2nd half. After Olney tied the score, sophomore defender Avery Gullion got his first career goal, and ended up being the game winner, as he connected on a header off the corner kick from Robbie Shober to make it 2-1. Eli Baker would add an insurance tally to finish off the scoring. Salem will travel to Olney on Tuesday when they take on Triad.
