Rockets Fall To Woodlawn, Howe New Career Stolen Base Queen
Selmaville ran into a buzzsaw as Woodlawn came up on top 17-3. Gabby Goostree had 2 doubles, Allie Patrick added a tiple with hits also from Azeemah Adenekan, Samara Simmons and Alana Howe. Selmaville is 18-5 and are off until regionals on Wednesday at 4pm when they play the winner of Tuesday’s game between Patoka and Sandoval.
Also on September 9th Alana Howe tied and went ahead of Selmaville standout Shelby Johnson for career stolen bases stealing her 126th base to become the All Time leader. She since then has stolen 8 more to give her 134. Johnson still holds the single season record of 61. Howe is only a 7th grader and has a chance to steal 200 career bases.
Lady Bobcats Earn Win Over CJHS
Franklin Park beat Centralia 14-1 behind Maci Susmena going 3-4 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Morgan Holland added 2 RBI as well. Kenna Benjamin, Max Maciejowski and Teryn Quinn added RBI. Emily Parret was the winning pitcher going 4 innings allowing no hits and striking out 6. The Lady Bobcats are 6-8 on the season.
Field Routs Bethel
Field scored 14 runs in the opening inning to beat Bethel 21-0 in 3 innings. Hadley Richardson homoered going 3-4 with 3 RBI. Kylee Holder tripled going 3-4 with 3 more RBI. Driving in 2 each for the Lady Panthers were Brynlee Page, Penny Johnson, Chesney Trout and Brookstyn Knight. Emma Pinkston was the winning pitcher with 6 strikeouts in her 2 no-hit innings. Macy Canon got the final 3 outs.
