The Bryan-Bennett Library in Salem has a number of summer events scheduled in the coming weeks that families in the area are welcome to attend. All programs are available free of charge.
On July 2, the library is holding “Troy Roark’s Wet and Wild Water Adventure,” an event where kids interact in game show style aquatic activities. Participants will receive one free T-shirt while supplies last. T-Shirts were donated by Keep Salem Beautiful.
The Planetarium Experience returns on July 16. Sessions are available from 2 to 6 PM. Sessions begin every half hour. Those interested can call ahead at (618) 548-3006 and make a reservation to avoid a wait.
July 18 will see Mad Science of St. Louis present “Adventure Begins at your Library: Up Up and Away.” Visitors will be able see interactive demonstrations of physics and chemistry designed to be a fun and educational experience for children. This program was funded in part by the Friends of Bryan-Bennett Library.
A Harry Potter themed escape room is planned for Saturday, July 27 to coincide with the Harry Potter birthday event at the Salem Theater. There are ten spots available. Reservations must be made by stopping in, calling the library’s main desk, or by using Facebook messenger. Names of all participants in the group (up to eight) and one contact phone number are required. Participants are asked to arrive at the main desk five minutes before their scheduled time.
