Police Beat for Wednesday, June 26th, 2024

A 43-year-old Salem man has been arrested for unlawful restraint and battery after allegedly chasing a man with a 2 by 4.  Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say the incident occurred late Tuesday morning in the 300 block of East Olive.  Deputies had to allegedly chase Michael Bartley to behind the Salem Public Works shed by the railroad tracks before taking him into custody.   Bartley was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Salem Police arrested 48-year-old Kendall Stottlemyre of West Boone in Salem for aggravated battery for allegedly shoving an unrelated female up against a window at his home early Wednesday morning.  Police say they had just arrived to a call about a domestic issue at the home when the incident occurred.

Centralia Police arrested 28-year-old Wanya Welker of Collinsville for domestic battery, unlawful restraint and interfering with a report of domestic violence to 911.

37-year-old Ashley Scarlett of US 50 in Salem was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on outstanding Clay County felony and misdemeanor warrants, a Fayette County misdemeanor warrant, and a Jefferson County major traffic warrant after investigating a report of a driver all over the road.  Deputies reported Scarlett was driving on a flat tire and had damage to her vehicle as if it had been in an accident.

37-year-old Paxton Price of North Beech in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police on an outstanding St. Clair County misdemeanor warrant and local charges that he was given a notice to appear.

Sandoval Police arrested 21-year-old Jeremyah Waits of South Marshall in Salem for driving on a suspended license.
