City of Centralia issues $6.4-million in building permits in November

The City of Centralia issued $6.4-million in building permits in November.

The two largest were for 8,000 foot multi-purpose room additions at both Jordan School and Centralia Junior High.   Each of them has an estimated cost of $2.8-million.

The city also issued a permit to Centralia High School for construction of a home in the 300 block of Melrose by the building trades class that has an estimated value of $145,000.

Five permits were issued to A and B Venture Capital to construct five 8,000 square foot storage buildings at the rear of the former IGA store that has been converted into storage space.  A and B was also issued a permit to construct a fence and gate on the rear side of the building since it abuts up to residential property.   The total of the permits is $82,000.

A permit was issued to Tina Kretzer for a building addition to the former Skipper’s Inn.   The addition will house new bathrooms.  The estimated cost is $50,000.

A permit was also approved for a new $250,000 home on Shook Lane on Raccoon Lake.

There were three permits for solar arrays.

A total of 26 building permits were issued with $1,506 in fees collected.

One demolition permit was issued.  It was to tear down a home at 130 South Elm.
