The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of two vehicles from the Alma area during the past few days. Neither has been recovered.
The latest report was made on Saturday. A resident in the 600 block of High Street in Alma reported her vehicle stolen sometime after she came home on Friday night and eight Saturday morning.
The sheriff’s department received a report on Friday of a 2008 Chevy truck being stolen from a residence in the 7600 block of Baylis Road in rural Alma.
The sheriff’s department has turned over to Kinmundy Police the theft of a purse and papers taken from a car in the 300 block of Goodwin in Kinmundy sometime before six Friday morning.
The sheriff’s department is also investigating the theft of the sign from the entrance of the Zion Grove Cemetery on Route 37 north of Dix. It was reported missing on Wednesday afternoon.
