For the second year in a row, the Village of Sandoval and the Sandoval School District are combining efforts for a Homecoming Street Fair from three to eight this Friday evening in the area of Commercial and Main.
Village Administrator LeAnn Speiser says a lot of activities are planned.
“Starting with the grade school’s parade we have every year, we will have a Vendor Fair, bringing back the Chili Supper held at Village Hall, a bonfire the Fire Department is hosting. The Library is sponsoring a chalk art contest, they are also going to have a book sale and other children’s activities.”
A late addition is the Colonial Golf Course Trunk or Treat event postponed earlier due to the weather. Heather Day says it will also now be held downtown.
“If everybody shows up that was supposed to be there at the Colonial last weekend, we had 17 trunks signed up. After the parade is over then the trunks can come in and get set up and we will do the trunks from 5:30-6:30.”
There will also be a Pet Costume Contest and Parade at five p.m., a performance by Studio 50 at 6:15 p.m., and live music from Corey Crouch at seven. The parade steps things off at three p.m. The Grand Marshal of the parade is Missy Schlau.
Mayor Pam Gelsinger wants people to come out and enjoy themselves and see everything Sandoval has to offer.
PTO President, homecoming coordinator, village board member and Sandoval High Alumni Courtney DeWeese Reams says the goal of the Homecoming Street Fair is to promote a spirit of unity and pride within the community by providing opportunities for students.
Sandoval High School will then host homecoming activities on Saturday night.
