Republican congressional candidate Darren Bailey of Xenia came to the Marion County Fairgrounds Monday afternoon to begin his ten-county tractor tour utilizing the first brand new tractor his dad purchased in 1969.
Bailey told a group of supporters that the country is in trouble and has fallen into chaos and dysfunction.
“I know we have all had enough. I refuse to let this continue. I refuse to stand by and let the radical left rip apart the fabric of our society. We need to fight back. We need to fight back against the radical left. We need to fight back against the establishment of both parties and the insiders that view governing as their meal ticket. Friends, the only ticket that these career politicians allowing this to happen need is a ticket back home. ”
Bailey says he wants to be among the new leaders who can bring fresh ideas to Washington.
Bailey then asked those in attendance to sign the tractor before moving on to the next stop in Effingham.
Bailey is challenging incumbent Congressman Mike Bost in the primary election next March.
