Police Beat for Thursday, October 12th, 2023

A 39-year-old Salem woman is being held in the Marion County Jail following her arrest late Wednesday night for alleged possession of methamphetamine and on a Clinton County felony failure to appear warrant.   Erica Taylor of North Broadway was arrested after her bicycle was stopped at Mills Cart and Roddy Roads around 11:30 Wednesday night.   She remains in jail in lieu of $10,000 bond on the outstanding warrant and was given a notice to appear on the meth charge.

A 45-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for alleged possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Andrew Norman of East Locust was taken into custody following a traffic stop at Hotze and West Main after the Marion County canine alerted on his vehicle.   Norman was given a notice to appear in court.

18-year-old Dearra Jamison of North Maple in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police for alleged domestic battery.  She was taken to the Marion County Jail pending a final decision on charges.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating criminal damage to a vacant home in the 6000 block of Marshall Creek Road in rural Odin.  The owner reported three windows were broken out.
