The top finishing in the 5K run at the Little Egypt Festival on Saturday was 13-year-old Jacob Cape of Salem in a time of 22 minutes and 30 seconds. The top finisher in the one mile run was Trevor Witzel in a time of 7 minutes 53 seconds.
There were a total of 50 participants in the Little Egypt 5K, one mile, and fun runs. The annual event moved back to Bryan Memorial Park this year is sponsored by the Salem Community High School Cross Country Team and Drama Club.
Other top finishers were Jeffrey Weaver second and Eli Stratton third in the 5K. Michael Lablenz was second and Brantley Carroll third in the mile run.
The 5K and one-mile runs get underway at Bryan Memorial Park on Saturday morning.
