All Illinois counties now at low COVID-19 transmission level; all South Central Illinois counties in single digits for new cases

All Illinois counties are now at the low level for COVID-19 transmission as the number of new cases falls into single digits across South Central Illinois.

The Marion County Health Department is reporting no COVID-19-related deaths in the past week ending Wednesday.  There are no congregate care facilities on outbreak status.

The CDC COVID-19 tracker shows Marion County with just one new confirmed or probable case in the week ending Wednesday.  There were no new hospitalizations.

Washington, Fayette, and Clay County also had no new hospitalizations.  Washington County had two new cases, Fayette Count three, and Clay County one.

Clinton County had three new cases and one hospitalization.  Jefferson County had seven new cases and one hospitalization.  Wayne County had two new cases and one new hospitalization.

Statewide, just 3,850 new cases were reported for the week ending April 30th along with five new deaths.

As of Thursday night, 404 individuals were in the hospital with COVID-19.  Of those, 46 were in the ICU and 25 were on ventilators.
