The Salem Grade School Board reorganized on Thursday night and kept the same officers.

Following review of the election results, all three incumbent board members were sworn in for additional four year terms.   They are Alisha Ambuehl, Brad Crowe and Lynette Dye.

The board then re-elected Ambuehl as board president, John Gaston as vice-president, Laura Burkett as secretary and Myron Lloyd as treasurer.

Superintendent Dr. Leslie Foppe reviewed summer maintenance projects.  They include resurfacing the kitchen floor at Hawthorn School as well as replacing areas of frayed carpeting at Franklin Park with tile used in other areas of the school, or new carpeting.   The district will attempt to solve a sewer line problem from a bathroom at Hawthorn School by inserting a sleeve inside the existing pipe.   Cost estimates will be available at the next meeting.   Foppe says the lines on the Franklin Park Gym Floor will be re-done this summer to make the basketball court junior high regulation.

The board kept Kerry Richards as its representative on the Kaskaskia Special Education Board.

The board employed Julie Quinn as girl’s assistant track coach and accepted the resignation of Thomas Goff as head boys track coach.
