A fire at a rural Iuka home Tuesday morning was confined to an upstairs bathroom.
Iuka Fire Chief Kenny Eagan says the fire was at a home occupied by Eddie and Sarah Dodson at 3453 Metcalf Road.
Eddie Dodson smelled smoke and called the fire department. The fire was found in a bathroom wall. Firemen had to pull some of one wall and a ceiling down to reach the fire that had spread to some of the insulation. A medicine cabinet also had to be removed. Eagan says the damage was confined to the bathroom.
Eagan believes an electrical problem started the fire. A junction box was near the location the fire began.
The home is owned by Cherry Weidle-Stewart.
The fire call came in at 7:55 Tuesday morning with firemen on the scene for about an hour.
