The Class S boys state tournament tips off today. At 9:30 it’s Raccoon taking on OLMC Herrin followed by Woodlawn and Marissa at 10:45, Albers takes on St Mary’s Alton at 12 then at 1:15 it’s Meridian and TSJ Nashville, Central City and St Joe School at 2:30, Altamont Lutheran plays Bluford at 3:45, Jonesboro and Wayne City at 5pm and New Simpson Hill plays St John’s Red Bud at 6:15.
The Class M Tournament opened last night. Sparta knocked off Goreville 42-36, Joseph Arthur 67-30 winners over Pinckneyville, Nashville 61-18 over Shiloh and Fairfield beat Johnston City 77-26. The Semifinals are Tuesday night at Rend Lake.
There will be a few Class L regional championship games today. The Centralia Tigers await the winner of Region 8 next Saturday at the opening game of the state tournament. Olney and Mt Carmel will play today at 10am for that spot. Also today, Casey Mount Vernon hosts DuQuoin at 10am for their regional title.
